So, It all comes down to this..... Wymondham's 2nd XV are away to Lakenham Hewett this Saturday and could come away as Champions of the Eastern Counties Division 2 (North) League.
The team has battled Hard and long to get to this position and after their last home game of the season, acquiring an awesome record of being undefeated at home in the 2017/2018 season and that being their 13th consecutive victory, a win away and bringing back some silverware to Tuttles Lane in its last year would be the cherry on the cake for what has been a great season for the team.
Changes for this fixture come in the form of Anthony Wisheart, Declan Burton, Andy Davies and Onisimo Sigakalele not being available for selection for the 2nd XV Ed Coleman, Finn Wright, Auden Airdre and Nial Airdre return to the fold.
With Wymondhams recent form and the desire to come away as outright Champions from this league. Every player will be putting their blood, sweat and tears into this match and they are going to have to in order to achieve their goal.
Captain Ollie Wright said "Back in October we were 7th in this league and rightfully written off. As players we had to dig deep, understand that Rugby at this level is about enjoyment and from there we've won every game that's been thrown at us. Lakenham have some big ball carriers that won't be given an itch, not only will they realise that they're playing the best attacking team in the league but also the best defensive team, with only 197 points scored against us.
Every individual game to date had been about securing "the win", one game at a time - this game, our last game, is about securing this league as leaders. #UpTheTwos"
2nd XV Coach Richard Davis said "After a hard season we have put ourselves in a great position to win the league. We just need another strong performance from the team. Which I'm sure they can deliver."
Its "Back to Wymondham day" at Tuttles Lane to celebrate the 40 year history of WRFC on Saturday. Can you think of a better way to celebrate that than a league win?
Kick off is at 15:00 at Lakenham Hewitt. Any support would be appreciated and would get to watch history in the making!!
