12. 2012 - Fylde Cricket League Champions

Losing two of the first three matches did not bode well for the season, but a win in the league away at rivals Ingol got thte season going and we didn't look back. Remaining unbeaten in the league for the rest of the season sounds like an easy stroll to the title, but it was anything but with Ingol always hot on our heels. But with a penultimate weekend win against St Annes it was in our hands going into the last weekend, which was sadly washed out as we claimed our third Close Cup and title of Fylde Cricket League champions. Our club founder and Chairman, Peter Snape, decided this was the time to call a close to his playing career, which had taken him from the Royal Navy to us via the famous Hambledon and Thornton, with a Wyre career tally of 638 wickets at an average of 10.8.
