On a blustery day at Cottam Hall – Wyre 1st team took on Darwin. Wyre bowled first. Tom Rawcliffe was the pick of the bowlers producing a fine spell, beating the bat out side off on many occasions. All the bowlers worked hard – particularly those bowling into the wind. Unfortunately, numerous chances went down which cost Wyre as James Allsop from Darwin went on to make 71 out of a total of 130.

In reply Wyre never really challenged the total with the Darwin bowlers bowling a consistent line and length and the fielders snaffling ever chance they got. The game ended with a Darwin victory in the 36th over. Wyre were all out for 85 with Kenny Crabtree, Steven Clayton and Simon Pollard equal top scorers with 15 each.

Despit the defeat, Wyre were pleased to finish second in the Level 4A Gold group, meaning progression to the Semi-Finals where they will face South Shore II away on Saturday.
