New Manager Joins The Town

New Manager Joins The Town

Thomas Smith10 Jun - 11:52

Welcome Chris Willcock

A NEW MANAGER AT ERICSTAN PARK
Statement from Wythenshawe Town Chairman Chris Eaton

"I cannot express how delighted we are to secure the services
of Chris Willcock, one of the most successful Managers in Non-
LeagueFootball. The season ahead looked to be very
challenging and we were looking for a Manager who had
experience not only at level four but the level above that as
well. Last season Chris did a great job at Lancaster City,
steering them clear of relegation in spite of difficult
circumstances and opposition of the highest quality. He also
has had a great record of success at Glossop North End, where
he took them not only to promotion but to the FA Vase Final at
Wembley. Chris has also enjoyed success at North-West
Counties level where he was twice named Manager of the
Season. I am very much looking forward to working with him,
taking Wythenshawe Town onward and upward".
Secretary Bob Astles said "1I have known Chris for twenty years
and I know what he will bring to the club. Ambition,
Organisation, Commitment, Discipline and Fitness".

Statement from Chris Willcock.

"I am looking forward to my new role as the manager. This is a
club with strong roots, a loyal following, and a real sense of
community togetherness. The club has been on an upwards
trajectory in the last 3 years, but last season was very
challenging for the first time in the clubs history at step 4
where the club had to deal with relegation and reprieve so l'm
coming in with a fresh outlook, aiming for stability with energy
and a clear vision to build something positive both on and off
the pitch. I can't wait to get started as we prepare for what I
believe will be a very competitive season and I am looking
forward to short, medium and long-term challenges and the
clubs exciting plans going forward. Let's get to work!
