Looking forward to 2024!

Looking forward to 2024!

David Booth19 Dec 2023 - 17:40

The Club's AGM on Monday 11th December was very well attended, with some great suggestions in the Open Discussion for taking the Club forward.

Some key points (the full Minutes are attached below for Club Members):

We elected Club officials and senior team captains for the year:

Chairman: Nigel Rickatson
President: Nigel Rickatson
Treasurer/ Assistant Treasurer: Jon Flint/Chris Edwards
Leagues Secretary: Joe Moore
Fixtures Secretary: Joe Moore
Membership Secretary: Dan Edwards
Clerk to the Committee: Chris Edwards

1st X1 Captain: Scott Hardwick, Vice Captain: Tom Jennings
2nd X1 Captain: Joe Moore, Vice Captain: Phil Jennings
Women’s Captain: Robyn Dennington, Vice Captain: Kate Thorncroft
Sunday Friendlies Captain: Tom Jennings

We had some excellent coverage in the local press last year, and we're going to build on that by raising our social media profile: Kate Thorncroft is co-opted onto the Committee to help manage the club’s external social media publicity.

We're changing our annual subscriptions and match fees structure this year to make it more equitable:
Annual club membership: Seniors (including School Years 11-13, i.e., anyone 15 or over on 01 September 2023): £20 – players to pay this with match fees at the first game played
Juniors (School Years 2-10):
o £50 (£35 if join after Half Term) for first child in the family
o £30 (£20 if join after Half Term) for each additional child in the family
Match fees (senior games only): mixed teams £10 (£5 Juniors); women’s games (no teas) £5

We're planning more social events and fundraisers in 2024:
Race Night – booked for Sat 23rd March at Bishop Wilton Hall
St Crux – booked for Sat 16th November
Pizza Night – proposed for a Friday in June
plus we'll be looking into other events - ideas and volunteer organisers welcome!

We're also looking for more sponsorship - especially for our very successful Yapham Women's team which needs a new kit (their high profile across the County should make an attractive sponsorship proposition for a forward-thinking local company!)

Finally, we need more volunteers to step forward and help the club develop further - parents, players, supporters - let us know if you might be able to help in any capacity.
