Yarnbury RFC is delighted to announce that John Riley has taken over as Club President, succeeding David Hornby.

John’s story with Yarnbury is nothing short of remarkable. He joined the club as a 15-year-old in the 1964/65 season and he’s never left.

Over more than six decades, John has given an incredible amount to the club, holding an extraordinary list of roles including:

? Secretary
? Fixture Secretary
? Junior Section Chairman
? Team Secretary
? Assistant Treasurer
? Bar Chairman
? Club Captain
? Colts Captain
? 2nd, 3rd & 4th Team Captain
? First Junior Section Coach
? Multiple Tour Organiser

And that list only tells part of the story.

John has been involved in almost every corner of Yarnbury RFC and has dedicated countless hours to helping players, teams, juniors and the club as a whole. He is, in every sense of the word, a Yarnbury stalwart.

To have someone with John’s knowledge, experience, passion and love for the club guiding us from the top is something we can all be incredibly proud of.

We’d also like to thank David Hornby for his time and commitment as President and for everything he has done for Yarnbury RFC.

Congratulations, John a thoroughly deserved appointment. We couldn’t wish for a better figurehead to help steer the ship.
