match report by John Rawson

Yarnbury were mindful of more discipline this week after so many penalties given away in the draw at Barnsley if they were to regain top spot which they have maintained during September.
They would have to do it with further changes.Lee Mortimer coming in on the left wingand George Bowen in for the injured Ian Maycock in the back row.Martin Rainey moved to the middle of the back row to accommodate the returning Calum Fawcett.

Yarnbury were on top from the start but took several wrong options and lost a line out on the five metre line and then were stopped from scoring by a determined Roundhegians defence.
The first ry came on 10 minutes with a quick ball out wide right winger Josh Bateson scooping up a low pass to score from close in and stand off Jarrod Huss converting well from the touch line.He then increased the lead with a penalty from in front of the posts for an offside decision.Winger Bateson then scored again with a long range solo effort when gathering a defensive kick in his own half to beat a series of defenders on his way to the posts.Huss converting.

Roundhegians were finding it difficult to repel the Yarnbury pressure but had a good attacking spell and No8 Dave Wilson taking a final pass to crash over out left for an unconverted try To show the home side they were still in a contest and needed to focus again.Captain Jason Avison then ran a superb line onto a Connor Moreton pass to score close in converted by Huss and to round off the scoring for the fourth try before half time wing forward impressed charging half the field from a controlled scrummage to score giving Yarnbury an impressive advantage at the break at 24-5.

Five minutes into the second half Avison was too strong for the opposition to score again converted by Huss and then back row Calum Fawcett got into the act from pack pressure and a final pass from the strong run of Martin Rainey both converted by Huss. Before final tries from Martin Rainey and winger George Oldridge. Roundhegians manfully kept working and scored a second try from second row Andrew Mulligan converted by stand off Gavin McMurty.

This was an impressive display by Yarnbury side well led by Captain Jason Avison who had a hat trick of tries to his name and will give the team confidence to go on and establish themselves in this league where the Yorkshire 1 experience from last season and strength in depth in putting out four league sides weekly is beginning to show to their advantage as the league unfolds.
