A dry pitch and light winds had the crowd hoping to see some open rugby as Moortown finished their season away at local rivals Yarnbury.

Kick-off by Yarnbury is collected and kicked back for a lineout on half way. The ball is caught by Alex Koppany and driven forwards. A ball move down the backline brings play to the top of the field. A forward drive by Carter has the crowd thinking the first try has been scored but it is touched down short of the unmarked line. Soon Yarnbury are on the attack again with strong pick up and runs by an excellent Dylan Stafford and Maxwell Lee driving into the 22. The ball is retained and Jamie Baker nips down the blind side to score. The try is converted by Oscar Andrews. From the kick off the ball is caught by Jamie McDonnell and a strong run brings Yarnbury back to half way the ball is won and kicked downfield. A strong kick chase puts Moortown under pressure but Yarnbury are penalised for falling over the ball at the ruck. The kick brings a lineout on the 22 caught by Alex Koppany and driven on a run by Edward Green makes good yardage but he is stopped short of the line. A run from the backs leaves Jack Brownridge tackled cutting inside the ball is retained by Jamie Mcdonnell and Jamie Baker picks up and scores his second try. The try is converted by Oscar Andrews. Yarnbury attack again with runs from Dylan Stafford and Maxwell Lee. A final pick up and drive by Alex Koppany is tackled short of the line. After an exchange of penalties the ball is moved down the back line with a run by Jamie McDonnell, good work by Carter to clear the breakdown Jamie Baker makes good use of the quick ball to score his third try. The try is converted by Oscar Andrews.
In the second half Moortown seemed determined to finish the season on a high with a strong start. A kick down field is knocked on and from the scrum strong running and a try to Moortown gives them momentum for the half. The strong Moortown Kick chase regularly put Yarnbury under pressure in this half. In a strong drive tackles from Alex Koppany and Carter stopped Moortown before Dylan Stafford turned the ball over again and his run relieved pressure. Yarnbury found them selves under pressure for the next five minutes as Moortown pressed for a second try. Good pressure from the backline and strong tackling from Peter Gill and Jamie McDonnell kept Moor town from being able to move the ball wide. Finally Yarnbury were able to restore some control and moved the ball back down field and a fourth try by Jamie Baker put the smile back on the faces of the Yarnbury supporters.
