Allen heads out for playing time.

Josh Allen has signed for fellow Southern Premier South side Merthyr Town, as he looks to play some games after a much disrupted season.

Allen has made 15 appearances for Yate Town this season, one of which saw him part of the squad during the club's Emirates FA Cup 1st Round tie against Yeovil Town back in November.

Paul Michael said on the departure
"Josh has had a really disrupted season and hasn’t quite got it going yet as he would like.

First of all Josh had a injury during pre-season that really limited opportunities, then he’s also been away with Wales Futsal, had another little niggle, been on a family break and most recently contracted Covid a little bit after many of the others, which put him out of the Merthyr & Dorchester games. We’ve got to January and after Covid and all the little disruptions he’s had we all agree the best thing at the moment is to go and play some games to get up to speed.

Josh has got undoubted talent that he’s shown in glimpses so far, his pass for Harding's goal against Beaconsfield at home and great long pass to Hopps which led to penalty at home to Poole . We all hope he can go to Merthyr, help them achieve their goals for a short period of time whilst getting a run of Southern Premier games under his belt and regain his match fitness".
