Comments from our Chairman for club members ... A follow on from the previous Club Covid Notice (18th Dec 2020)

As you are all aware we are in very unprecedented times. The decision to close ALL of the clubs facilities and stop ALL football at Yaxley FC was not taken lightly.
I appreciate that this has not suited everybody, but I as chairman of the club have a duty to protect our members.

With the rules that were implemented over the weekend which saw Peterborough moving into the new Tier 4, I feel even more that the decision made was the correct one, to keep ALL of our members, volunteers and staff safe and well in the run up to Christmas.

Please note that this is a mandatory club ruling and feel that it is the right thing to do. If managers go against this decision and start to play at other venues, then I would consider this as a breach of club rules and would look at the implications this would have.

I am fully aware that at this moment in time that some members feel that it is not right to continue paying the membership fees due to not having club facilities to use. I can understand this, but also, please be aware that we still have outgoings that need to be paid in order for us to maintain a club for the future.

The above decision will be reviewed on a regular basis as and when we get new information / guidelines, which as we are aware currently change on a daily basis at times.

This only leaves me to say,
I hope that you and your families have a very safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hopefully we can get back to some sense of normality and start to play football again, which is the whole reason that we are all here.

Take care and stay safe.
Regards,

Malcolm Clements.
Yaxley FC Chairman.
