This week sees the 1st XI take the short journey to Whitchurch Wayfarers CC, whilst the 2nd XI entertain Asburton at Langton Park. The 3rd XI have a week off but will be looking at getting some match practice at home on Sunday against Chumleigh & Mid Devon.

Welcome back to Christiaan Van Niekerk (Sid) who returns to YBCC again to reacquaint himself with English pitches having played here in the 2015 season. Current form is looking good and long may it continue.

This year, the captains, Sam Crompton (1st XI), Chris Vinson (2nd XI), Sam Betts (3rd XI), Dan Cooper (P&D) and Sandy Ralph (Sunday XI) will be looking for good communication from members regarding availability to enable the selection process to go smoothly. If there is a change of circumstance and a player is unable to play following selection please advise at the earliest opportunity.

Subscriptions will need to be paid in order to keep the Treasurer happy and allow us to pay the bills. Please ensure we all pay our way as this could affect your selection and a list of paid up members will be available on the notice board, if there are problems with cashflow please speak to a member of the committee and we can come to an arrangement. The £5 standing order/direct debit is an easy way to pay and the form is available on the website.

Good luck to all players and please remember to play the game with 'the spirit of cricket' in mind. Respect your fellow players, the opposition, umpires and supporters.
