ROSES RFC FOOD PANTRY FUNDRASIER
To All Roses RFC Members – The Roses Rugby Football Club would like to also turn its attention to assisting those less fortunate in our community. We have a strong club membership with roots in being an organization that lends its support to others in time of need. And it’s in that rugby spirit of friendship that would like to reach out to all members and invite you to join us and help give back to our community.
The Roses RFC is hosting a fundraising drive for two local food pantries. For every dollar donated by our club members, the Roses RFC will match it up to $2000 of our own club funds. Our hope is to raise a minimum of $1500 in club member / business donations, which would give us a $3000 total to support families in need. But I know that we can do more.
The food banks that we will be supporting do have ties with two of our club members. Tommy Kellet works directly with Catholic Harvest Food Pantry of York. And Bob “The Pastor of Pain” Garvey is associated with the Anchorage Breakfast Program in Lancaster.
There are 3 ways to donate –
1 – Straight donation from $5 - $50 submitted to through our club Square App site.
2 – Straight donation over $50 mailed directly to club treasurer Kenny Erdman. Or we are happy to come and pick the check up from you. We would like to have a direct mail for larger donations, thus limiting any lost funds in fees we would lose by using the Square App.
3 – Purchase the new Roses & Thorns Fall 2020 gear through the club store set up by our friends at Foundation Printing. A portion from every purchase goes to the Food Pantry Fundraiser as well as club funds.
So be clear, with the exception of a small portion from the club store, 100% of straight monetary donations will go towards this effort. So while buying some new club gear is encouraged, please also consider a monetary donation as well.
And remember, every donation to the Roses RFC is now TAX DEDUCTIBLE as we are a licensed 501(c)3 charity. Please pass this on to your business or employer to consider making a tax-deductible donation. We are happy to provide forms as needed for tax purposes.
We hope that every Roses RFC club member can take a moment to give something.
From $5, to $100, it all helps! Let’s do this!
Catholic Harvest Food Pantry is a non-profit organization and an independent organization supported local churches, as well as local businesses, service organizations, and individuals in York County. Catholic Harvest Food Pantry operates one of the largest food pantries in York County. Our pantry is unique in our area in that we are the only pantry to distribute food five nights a week. There are typically more than 750 families each month who use our services and it seems our numbers grow each year. Many of the families who come to us are working but do not make enough to keep food on their table. In addition to food distribution we also provide clothing and miscellaneous household items.
Anchorage Breakfast Program exists to provide no cost meals, 52 weeks a year, 5 days a week, to Lancaster’s low-income, unsheltered, and socially-excluded populations with love. A free breakfast is served from 8:30a.m. until 9:45a.m. each weekday, everyone and anyone may come and eat. A nutritious menu of hot, protein filled food items, juice, milk, cereal, toast, fruit and coffee are served everyday. The average number of people served everyday is 180.
