Back from Training... But Missing One

By Website Administrator

Pre-season training gets underway tomorrow after what feels like a short summer break. There will be one player notable by his absence.

Club Captain Jamie Thoroughgood will have a delayed start to his pre-season as he heads off to Mexico hoping to defend the World Medical Football Championship for Great Britain, a title he led them to in 2018 (pictured lifting the trophy).

Dr Thoroughgood captained the team that beat the Czech Republic team in the final last season and will no doubt look bring the trophy home again. The tournament takes place between 29th June and 7th July in Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico . Each team must be made up entirely of Medical Doctors with two players over 35 on the pitch at all times. With a pitch full of Doctors you have to feel sorry for the Physio!

Good luck to the Great Britain Medical Football Team. If you want to follow Jamie's progress you can check out the WMFC 2019 website.

For the rest of the squad they will be back in training in tomorrow to prepare for the first pre-season friendly in two weeks time.
