Preview - Erith Town At Mayfield Stadium

By Website Administrator

It is a busy weekend with the FA Cup Semi-Finals, the Grand National and the Boat Race... and also Erith Town are at Mayfield Stadium.

The Rams were back to winning ways last weekend with a victory at Chatham Town that certainly dented their championship hopes. Kevin Rayner was pleased to put the run of six defeats behind him and will be looking to finish the season with a run of wins starting at home to Erith Town.

Erith Town have seen their recent form lift them to 11th in the table and are currently 2 points ahead of the Rams with a game in hand. They did lose in midweek, however, and have recorded back to back defeats on their travels.

In the reverse fixture it was Erith Town who took the points with a victory by the odd goal in three with the scoring all happening in the first half.

With only 2 points splitting the top three sides it is becoming a very interesting run in and all the teams are in action tomorrow. Corinthian, who are top, are at home to Sheppey United (6th); Fisher, a point behind, are at Canterbury City (9th) and Cray Valley PM, a point behind Fisher, are at home to Crowborough Athletic (15th). Chatham Town, who now trail in 4th, have taken just 2 points out of 9, are at Glebe (8th); Beckenham Town (5th) are at home to Bearsted (14th); Deal Town (7th) are at Lordswood (10th); K Sports (13th) are at Punjab United (18th); Tunbridge Wells (16th) are at home to Hollands & Blair (17th) whilst the crucial takes place at Rusthall (19th) as they take on Croydon (20th). If Croydon lose then they will be relegated.

Tomorrow is also a Kit Amnesty game. We are happy to work with Julian Chenery who is encouraging you to bring old kit to the game which he will collect all the items and working with charity partners will reissue them abroad where they will be put to good use and brings smiles to the faces of those who will be grateful to put them to good use.
