Weatherhead All Smiles

Follwoing this weeks fixture Vs Chew Valley RFC at Barracks Lane a presentation was made in the club house by Bristol Referee Society President Ed Morrison and former club chairman & now Bristol Society Referee Chair Steve Leyshon.
Steve who refereed the 2XV fixture Vs Nailsea & Backwell along with Ed were given the privilege of making Gerry Weatherhead an Honourary Life Member of the Bristol Referee Society. Gerry who has been a club member at Avonmouth since his teens has been invovled with the referee soceity for decades and has over many years been an ever present figure while filming fixtures to aid the development of the next generation of referees. Gerry who has been doing the same at Avonmouth now for the last 6 years was all smiles and speechless for once.

We at Avonmouth Old Boys are grateful for the work he does on a saturday & extremely proud to see his efforts commemorated in such a fantastic way by the Bristol Referees Society.
