Rhinos Ease Past Cobras

The Rhinos made light work of Rochdale Cobras on Saturday as they eased their way to a 36-10 win

The Rhinos looked dominant from the start and took the lead on 8 minutes when Danny Royle's switch pass found Josh Grundy who scored beneath the posts and then converted his own try to put Cadishead 6-0 ahead.

Next up was Connor Wells who collected a Danny Royle pass to score and Josh Grundy added the extras again.

The Rhinos were rampant and on 16 minutes they scored the try of the game following a Nathan Vernon break who found Josh Grundy in support who's ball out of the back was received by Alex Speakman who cruised over to score and take the score to 16-0.

It all started to look too easy and the over confidence saw the Rhinos start to make silly errors and wrong choices with the ball inviting the Cobras back in to the game and they took full advantage scoring a converted try out wide.

Just before half time Danny Royle scored to give the Rhinos a 20-6 lead at the break.

The Rhinos started the second half with some sloppy play as time and time again they coughed the ball up early in the tackle count however they still managed to stretch their lead on 43 minutes when hooker Jimmy Crozier scooted over to score and Josh Grundy added the conversion.

Cobras were showing plenty of character though and on 65 minutes they shipped the ball wide to score reducing the Rhinos lead to 26-10.

Danny Royle scored his second try of the afternoon following a great break from Joe Kelly and the final minutes saw Josh Williams stroll over for a try which Nathan Vernon converted to take the final score to 36-10.
