Another Youth team player rewarded

First team manager Lee Knibbs has once again moved to sign another Coventry Sphinx Youth team player on first team forms. Alex Pearson has been a key player in the success of the Youth team this season and the attacking midfielder gets his reward.
In recent weeks, Alex has been called up to the Birmingham County FA representative Under 18 squad and he made his debut on Saturday at the Birmingham County FA headquarters. On Monday he also got the call to join the first team squad in a friendly match against Coleshill Town and he played his part in a 4-1 win. That performance was enough for Lee Knibbs to make the decision to formally make him part of the first team squad.
Alex has been with club for the last eight years after joining Coventry Sphinx juniors at the age of 10. He has continued to develop and progressed into the Coventry Sphinx Youth team at the start of last season. This season he has achieved a good goal scoring record with 8 goals in his 18 Under 18s matches so far. He has usually been deployed in an attacking midfield position just behind the strikers and he has played a key role in helping Youth team striker Dan Kelly score the 30 goals that has him as the leading goal scorer across all five Midland Floodlit Youth League divisions.
Alex Pearson will be back on the football pitch on Monday evening when the Coventry Sphinx Youth team travel to Rugby Town for an important league fixture.
