DUNVANT HOST KIDWELLY THIS WEEKEND (2nd Feb)

Games against Kidwelly have always been tightly contested for the full 80 minutes. Two seasons ago Kidwelly were the 1 West Champions but in failing to win the promotion play off for Championship status they lost a number of players and support staff needing to rebuild quickly. Last season they battled in the relegation zone with Tenby, Penclawdd and Tycroes managing to finish 9th on the last day of the season with Penclawdd and Tycroes being relegated. This season has again been tough for the Black and Ambers hogging the relegation spots with Tenby and having won only two games so far, both in December, an 8-3 home win over 2nd placed Gowerton and an 8-6 win at Llanelli Wanderers in their last game of 2018. They started 2019 with a losing bonus point at home to Llangennech but since then have endured some heavy defeats conceding 62 points at Aberystwyth, 51 to Felinfoel and 30 at home to Crymych. They are in 11th place with 12 points, 14 behind 10th placed Llanelli Wanderers, scoring 19 tries in their 13 games played.
Dunvant have recently found some consistent form with 5 consecutive wins but came unstuck last Saturday when we were no match for Felinfoel’s forward pack who put on a superb performance in the awful conditions to win comfortably against a Dunvant side who gave everything to no avail, losing 36-0. Dunvant are in 6th place with 8 wins from 12, 37 tries and 37 points.
It looks like we are in for another thriller today so get behind the boys right from the start
Elsewhere Dunvant 2nds are away to Kenfig Hill in the Ospreys West league and Dunvant Youth travel to Morriston in the 3rd round of the Swansea District Youth cup.
