Haven face table-toppers on Saturday

PEACEHAVEN & TELSCOMBE get back to league action on Saturday when league leaders Lingfield visit The Sports Park.

The visitors are the league’s early leaders after winning their opening two games 3-0 away to East Preston and they then put six past Eastbourne Utd without reply in their second game.

Like Peacehaven, they also exited the FA Cup on Tuesday. They held Spelthorne from the Combined Counties Premier League 1-1 away in Saturday’s game, but were comprehensively beaten 4-0 in Tuesday night’s replay.

From their opening two games, Peacehaven have won one and lost one and sit in eleventh place in the fledgling table.

Both teams will have something to prove after going out of the cup on Tuesday and Lingfield will be keen to preserve their undefeated record and to consolidate their top place position. They will begin the game as favourites.

Last season Peacehaven won the first encounter between the two sides 2-1 away in what was the second game of the season. And in December Lingfield returned the favour by beating Peacehaven 2-0 at The Sports Park.

The game kicks-off at 3pm. Entry is £7 for adults and £5 for over 65s. Under 18s get in for free.
