Club/Community Hub Update

Update report from Brian Elkerton, Development co-ordinator.

Diary update on club development, I have been asked to inform the members on what's going on with development.
28th May
Met with Steve Lewis from Scottish power discuss making good the nature trail vandalised by the 4x4s ,talks positive.
29th May
Met with residents chairman to arrange a meeting with Magenta , then put our open day posters up around the shops,
30th May
Met with professional sports turf design, to do a survey of side pitch and take inspection holes. First stage of the possibility of new pitch with floodlights, feed back positive.
31st May
Contacted Wirral Globe who in turn posted article on-line.
3rd June
Met with Councillor George Davies, discussions about new pitch & club development; outcome he is arranging a meeting with council asset team to meet at club.
Sourced prices for new flat roof on lounge & gym.
4th June
Myself & Dave Ball canvassed local businesses to advertise and make donations for Community Open Day (Sat 22nd June). Met ground worker for price on slab & drains.
5th June
Met steel erector for price to erect frame for new changing rooms, second estimate for groundworks. Afternoon went to Ellesmere Port for material samples for changing rooms walls.
7th June
Held a meeting with new Green Councillor Chris Cook to bring him up to date with our plans. He will also be fighting for money council received from the sale of Pershore House Playing fields, to go towards replacing pitch at the rugby club.

Upcoming
13th June
Meeting with Dennis Morgan for talks about acquiring more land; to get a bigger pitch & increase car parking.
15th June

Working party at Clubhouse from 10am, all club members are encouraged to attend.
22nd June
Community Hub presentation and open day from 1pm
Ongoing

At present we are waiting for structural engineer drawings.
Allan Roberts has set up a group exploring funding and grants.
Gary fisher has now taken on pitchside sponsorship boards & matchday program. To this end if any member/business are interested in sponsoring please contact Gary Fisher.
The main push now is to raise funds to ensure this project is a success.
