Stamford made their first ever trip to Pickering looking to secure the points against a side who badly needed the points themselves.
The home side started brightly with Josh Greening & Ryan Blott going close in the opening period of the game.
Stamford’s first real chance came just after the quarter hour mark when Greg Smith met a cross, but his header was saved by Harry Foulkes in the Pickering goal at the expense of a corner. A few minutes later, the home side had a really good chance when Danny Earl got behind the Daniels back line, but he dragged his shot wide of the goal.
The Daniels took the lead on 27 minutes when the ball was crossed from the right and Smith went up for the ball with the home goalkeeper, but the ball fell to Joe Burgess who clever ball back in found Greg Smith who headed the ball over the covering defenders into the net.
Four minutes later, Stamford doubled their lead when Burgess found Jon Challinor in space and he fed Ryan Seal for him to slot the ball home for his seventh goal of the season. The home side did not really trouble Dan Haystead in the Daniels goal as Stamford finished the half on top.
This changed at the start of the second half as Pickering started to attack the Daniels back line with Blott and Earl both having chances.
On 55 minutes, the home side got a goal back when Josh Greening scored at the far post after Blott had flicked a ball on from a right-wing cross.
Stamford were struggling to string passes together and on 67 minutes conceded a penalty with Mike Armstrong handling the ball. Ryan Blott stepped up and sent Dan Haystead the wrong way.
This jolted Stamford back into action and they re-took the lead when Rob Morgan crossed the ball to Joe Boachie and the Daniels forward rose to head the ball home.
The home side pressed and got an equaliser in the fourth minute of added time. Greg Smith was adjudged to have handled the ball. The subsequent free-kick was launched upfield and the ball was crossed from the right and Joe Danby poked the ball home at the far post despite Haystead attempts to clear the ball.
Stamford did have another chance to through Ollie Brown-Hill but his shot was straight at the keeper.
