On a very blustery afternoon, struggling Mildenhall Town and mid table Tilbury shared the points in an uninspiring game.
Tilbury went into the game with two changes, Darren Phillips and Ryan Ramsey replaced Lance Akins and Joe Burgess.
Tilbury started well with George Sykes denied by a brilliant Jake Hayhoe save, before the ball fell to Tommy Barton who rifled towards goal, only to see the effort cleared off the line
On 17 the home side took the lead when Tilbury failed to clear on the edge of the area and the ball came to John Sands who hit home. Sykes was again causing problems and thought he should have had a penalty on 19 when he as bundled over. Hayhoe tipped another effort wide from Sykes as Tilbury grew into the game.
On 31 Tilbury levelled up when Sykes ran towards goal, turned the ball back to Tommy Barton who rifled into the top corner from an acute angle. Just before the break Hayhoe was again the saviour saving another Sykes shot.
Mildenhall looked better after the break with the wind in there favour, Sands was denied by Rhys Madden on two occasions in the space of 2 minutes.
On 77 Tilbury gave away a needless foul on the right and Joe Asensi swung his free kick in, only to see it go over everyone directly into the net. It took Tilbury just 2 minutes to level again, when substitute Kris Newby sent a ball across field to Lewis Smith who cut inside and hit in to the net.
Tilbury were the side holding on at the end and left Mildenhall with a disappointing showing.
The result sees Tilbury drop down to 11th.
Tilbury are back in action next Saturday when they welcome another struggling side Great Wakering Rovers. 3.00pm kick off.
