Boss gives his verdict on a wet and miserable night...

IT WAS a wet and miserable evening at Treyew Road as we let a half-time lead slip to lose 2-1 at the hands of Wealdstone.
“In a way I feel sorry for the boys as they put in a magnificent effort and deserved something out of the game,” admitted manager, Leigh Robinson. “But our error in gifting them a penalty at a key time mixed with chances missed means we frustratingly come away with nothing.
“I felt we got to the 60th minute fully in control and with Wealdstone struggling to cause us any problems. At that point they were looking for a way back into the game which we gifted them via the penalty.
“After this we reacted well and had a couple of chances which we didn’t take and then their lad pops one in the top corner from the edge of the box to win them the game.
“There were plenty of positives for us in terms of the performance and fight that we showed but looking to build for next season we have to make sure we take something from nights when we match sides like Wealdstone.
“Our focus now turns to Saturday and righting the wrongs at Billericay Town.”
