The team were playing following disappointing defeats by Barny & Blyth.
Stephen Hodgson was brought in on the wing, Tom Rowland stepped into the front row, Chris Urwin to lock and Dan Hepple into the back row. James Watson & Ryan Blemmings were promoted from the seconds to the bench.
Consett started really well, pressing downhill in sunny, yet windy conditions. Ben Jones crossed the line following a high tempo attack. Winlaton were not going to lie down, who replied with a try. Two penalties allowed them to finish the half 11-7 up.
The second half saw Consett cross the line three times. Chris Urwin picked and drove from a ruck following a break away run, Liam Bartle snook around the blind from the back of a maul at pace and yours truly scored from the back of the scrum to round off the bonus points. Nick Cook converted three of our tries as well as two penalties.
Winlaton started to drive and maul, which worked in their favour. The game came to a close finish at 32-28.
