BAKER - THE BETTER TEAM WON

By Steve Reynolds

Neil Baker was a disappointed man after seeing his side beaten 2-1 by Radcliffe in the promotion play-off final.

After the game he commented, "I told the players, I’m proud of them but, we were disappointing today, we didn’t perform well enough.

“We looked like last Saturday (Colwyn Bay) and Wednesday (Colne) had taken a lot out of us and we didn’t play with any real spark.

“Even at half-time when we were leading 1-0, I said we hadn’t played well enough and we will concede defending like that.

“I expected us to play better in the second half, we didn’t and Radcliffe got on top and, played with good intensity and, they had the legs that we didn’t. The better team won today."
