After two workman like performances in the last week versus Bro Goronwy and the Welsh Guards, the squad went into this game with a bit of confidence. We welcomed Callum Davidson and Craig Jones back into the squad after injury and had Tom Scorer missing 1 match ban after his sending off last week.
We stared slow and struggled with the conditions as there were some heavy patches on the pitch due to all the rain that we had over the last few days.
A corner on 18 mins was whipped in by Guy Hughes and it half cleared to the edge of the box and with a rocket of a shot Mitchell Jones scored his 1st goal of the season for the Tigers. A Talysarn corner was met by the centre half and out of nowhere Mark Jones headed the ball of the line, from here on we continued to dominate the 1st half and it was made to count on 42 mins when a run from Guy Hughes beating a couple of defenders before being brought down about 25 yards out. Up stepped Tom Parry and the ball nestled in the back of the net.It was what the boys deserved from the effort they had put into the 1st 45 mins.
couple of subs were made at half time with Callum Davidson and Brendon Whitfield being replaced by Lewis Hughes and Andy Clarke.
In the second half some brilliant interplay between Lewis Hughes, Guy Hughes and Andy Clarke put the Talysarn defence on the back foot and it was only down to a couple of quality saves from their keeper kept it at 2 - 0.
59 Mins - Mark Jones replaced by Jason Scott.
We switched off for a few minutes and lost control of the game and Pete Bridges scored a great long range strike to bring Talysarn back into the game. This is what we needed and we picked up the temp again and a lovely through ball down the right from Ows put Andy Clarke in and as Andy cut into the box the keeper looked across the box to see who was there and in that split second Andy smashed the ball into the back of the net to make it three.
Andy and Geth went close to extending the lead, but in the end it was a brilliant 3 points earned by the Tigers on a heavy pitch and tough conditions.
Well battled boys and onwards to Llanllyfni at home next week.
