Bethesda 12 v Llandudno 61 - match report

The Goats clinched the North Wales Division 1 Championship at the home of the Quarrymen Bethesda, scoring nine tries, and eight conversions, and now set their sights on the North Wales Cup Final against the mighty Nant.

They opened their scoring spree after just twelve minutes of play with a try by Arthur Lennon which he also converted, and followed this up with a try three minutes later by Rhys Henederson with Arthur Lennon converting.

The next try came on the twenty five minute mark with Cameron Davies touching down after he had collected a kick ahead.

Try number three came on thirty two minutes from quick interplay passing, with Lloyd Evans receiving the try scoring pass, with a further two points being added with the conversion by Arthur Lennon.

The Goats continued to pressurise the Quarrymens defence which they breached with another try by Cameron Davies giving Artrhur Lennon an easy conversion from under the posts.

The Quarrymen scored the first of their two tries during the first half, which they also converted.

The Goats next try came from a driving maul which crossed the home try line, with forward Aled Meredith being awarded the touch down.

The home side opened the second half scoring on the fifty two minute mark with an unconverted try, but from this point on it was the Goat Herd that continued to dictate proceedings with there strong forward platform, and pace of the back division which the home side failed to contained, the overall play of forwards and backs in support was the feature of this Championship winning result, and they completed the score line with further tries by Morgan Owen and Lloyd Evans in the final ten minutes of play with Arthur Lennon converting both.

Last match of the season on the 27th April away to Pwllheli.

North Wales Cup Final against Nant on 11th May at Denbigh RFC, Kick Off 5pm.
