2-2 Reserves v Selston Reserves
It was a lively opening to the game as Radford pushed forward in the early stages. Centre forward Tony Edwards worked his socks off chasing down defenders and Radford wingers Tim Harrung and Harry Pezzolla were causing problems down the wing. All the hard work paid off on Ten Minutes when Tim Harrung cut inside from the left wing to curl the ball over the stranded keeper from 20 yards out.
A few minutes later from almost their first attack Selston equalised when Tim Moore’s shot from just outside the area beat Radford keeper Liam Perry. The game became more evenly contested after the equaliser but a minute before half time a Radford player was upended in the area and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped Captain Martin Doyle who made no mistake and Radford were 2-1 ahead at the break.
The second half opened in torrential rain and five minutes in Selston were awarded a penalty. Tim Moore converted to put the scores at 2-2. Radford came back at Selston playing some good one touch football and had the greater possession. Delane Hylton had a good opportunity to put Radford ahead but he blasted the ball high and wide of the goal. Raheem Sonmanu was bossing Centre midfield but could not find the killer pass through the Selston defence. Selston were always a threat but the Radford defence kept their shape restricting
the visitors to a few openings. For all their effort Radford could not find a winning goal and the game ended all square.
