Two from Two at Flint whilst U12's also win away.

It was the U7’s again up first to play at the weekend as Saturday morning they took on a strong Cartmel u8’s team. The young ones put up a great performance as they continued with their good passing style shown in previous games, however the age gap proved an advantage to the visitors and they eventually won the game 7-4. Scorers for the Wingmakers were AJ, Sam, Alex and Tom. Man of the match Sam Griffiths. Our youngest squad were also in action again Monday night as they hosted The New Saints and although it was a very cold night the young Wingmakers were on fire as they produced one of their best performances and finished the game comfortable winners 8-2. Throughout the game, the boys played some excellent attacking football whilst also having an very good maturity above their young years in defending and keeping their shape. Goal scorers were Alex Warner (5) , Tom and Sam (2). Man of the match Alex Warner.
The only other game Saturday was the Youth team in a Newfa Premier division game away to Wrexham based team Belle Vue. The youth team continued their recent run of good from and came away with a convincing 8-1 victory. The home team offered a stubborn defence in the early stages but eventually the Wingmakers broke through in the 41 minute when Connor Randall poked the ball home after a clever front post run in the box. Goal of the game came up next when Ben Lawrence hit a powerful strike from 25 yards after an excellent move down the right hand side. The goals continued to come second half and Toby Vickery was the next Wingmaker to score as he headed home from close range after an excellent Luke Griffen cross. Soon after, Connor Randall got his second of the game when he squeezed home a shot from just outside the area and then Stuart McHarrie got his rewards for some tireless work upfront as he headed in from a corner. Ashley Power was next on the score sheet as he followed in a shot and scored on the rebound after the keeper had saved. Bellevue got a deserved goal for their brilliant attitude as a ball into the area was not dealt with and the striker poked the ball passed Airbus Keeper Tom Lewney but it was the Wingmakers who finished the scoring with two more late goals from Owen Payne and Stu McHarrie with his second. We would like to wish all the best to the BelleVue player ‘Geds’ who suffered a serious injury in the game and hope he has a speedy recovery.
Our 14’s and 16’s were in super 6 action Sunday as both teams visited Flint Town academy. In a close competitive u16s game not many chances were created throughout and it was a single goal that won the game which fortunately came from the Wingmakers when Connor Cox headed home with a bullet header from a superb Declan Molyneux cross. Flint went on to put a lot of pressure on Airbus but our defence withstood the pressure to take the points. M.O.M Thomas Lang. It was a double celebration for Airbus on the day as Dave Riley’s U14s also continued their good form to come away with a deserved 3-0 win.
The U12’s were also in academy cup action as they travelled along the coast to visit Llandudno academy. It was a replay of a recently played friendly in which Llandudno won 2-1 but it was Airbus who came away from this game with the spoils as their recent run of good form continued. Airbus started very well and they went into the break leading 3-0 with two goals from Josh Roberts and a own goal. The second half saw Airbus carry on playing some excellent football, whilst also defending well to thwart Llandudno. Josh Roberts went on to get another for his hatrick and Ryan Atkinson completed the scoring with two excellent goals for the score line 6-0.
The U15s and U13’s were also in action in fixtures against Cefn Druids Sunday afternoon. The 15’s got back on track after a defeat last week as they won their game 4-2. Paddy Fiddaman opened the scoring with the first two goals, one of which was a contender of goal of the season after taking on 4 Druids players and slotting it into the bottom corner. Tom Hitchell added a third goal and then Tom Gibson rounded off the scoring after winning and scoring from a penalty. The U13’s were involved in a competitive game which saw the Wingmakers lose 4-1.
