Alloa scraped together the bare minimum 15 players for this BT Midlands Div 1 tie against a Glenrothes side who are scrapping at the top end of the table for promotion and the tough task got even tougher within the first 5 minutes as Alloa's lengthy injury list got even longer when Findlay Currie was stretchered from the field after suffering a leg break.
The 14 men battled as hard as they could but they could do nothing to stop the Fife onslaught who used the player advantage to maximum effect and pretty much scored at will. A solitary Kris Aitken try just before half time was the only positive on a day that is best forgotten about.
The task does not get any easier for the struggling Alloa side as they face another tough trip to Fife to take on Dunfermline RFC this Saturday.
