AK beating Liverpool Collegiate 34-19
Altrincham Kersal hosted Liverpool Collegiate in the Lancs/Cheshire Division One League.
Following a poignant minutes silence observed by both teams and spectators in memory of Mike Meaney a long time member of Altrincham who passed away during the week, the game got underway.
Liverpool came out of the blocks to make a thundering start, but this was calmly dealt with by some very strong defence from Altrincham.
It was Altrincham Kersal who scored first and followed up with four further tries to make the score 29-0.
Liverpool then countered with three tries of their own to make the score at the end of a tempestuous first half 29-19.
Altrincham Kersal scored first in the second half to make the score 34-19 and Liverpool countered with a try later in the half.
The final score was Altricham Kersal 34, Liverpool Collegiate 19.
This gave the home side a much needed bonus point win with six tries coming from James Colson(3),John Coulson(1), Callum Yates(1)and Jack Wise(1).
Next week Altricham Kersal travel to Hoylake.
