Club Statement regarding the payment of players next season

Position regarding the payment of players for the 2019/2020 season

The Management Committee of Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club met last night to discuss, among other things, initial planning for next season.

It was agreed that at the present time, the club is not in a position to commit to contracts that would involve the payment of players at Level 5 in the 2019/20 season.

It was also agreed that to be fair and transparent to the current squad, this fact be communicated to them as soon as possible.

Head of Rugby Pete Glackin has therefore let the players know of this situation this afternoon. Any player who decides to make alternative arrangements for next season as consequence of this decision, will leave the Bees with the very best wishes of everyone involved at the club.

The club would like to make it known that no further decisions have been made in regard to any other aspect of its activities at this stage.
