Oldham 48 Burnley 18

Good start ,good finish poor middle!

Another disappointing day at the office, the first 15 and last 10 minutes was Burnley time in between Oldham took the game away from the travelling seventeen.

First half, Burnley were on top then a penatly was given against Burnley for holding on, Oldham quick penalty by Oldham's nine who usual props! but his pass was intercepted by Zane Smith who raced away and scored under the posts, converted by Joe Parkinson, followed shortly by him kicking a penalty 0-10. Then Burnley were in their own third possibly time to clear the lines instead they ran a decent move Joe Haley cut through, but the referee saw some blocking and Oldham scored from the resulting penalty, conversion missed. Next up was Oldham centre who burst through very poor tackling ( boys see Oldham photos - Stop grabbing with hands and stick a shoulder in!!!! ). Their third try again was down to sloppy tackling. Parkinson then kicked a penalty to reduce the lead to nine points and every chance of a big second half, unfortunately Burnley conceded on half time and went into the break 29-13 down..

Second half and a small change in personal Rick Griffiths came on a 9 and straight away showed good speed around the break down, but Oldham were to strong and scored two further tries. Then a moment that highlights what Burnley need to change on the pitch, the scrum being strong decided to kick to the corner, the ball went dead - let's think better in battle. Like said at beginning Burnley finished well and Griffiths worked is way over, conversion hit post....48-18 to the home side.
