Rhinos Overpower Runcon

A dogged performance from the Rhinos on Saturday saw them win 32-18

The Rhinos took the lead after 2 minutes when Josh Williams collected a Josh Grundy kick to score.

Runcorn hit back on 10 minutes with a converted try to put them 6-4 ahead.

Both teams were making errors and giving away penalties however it was the Rhinos defence led by Ben Connor, Nathan Vernon and Jack Callaghan that was starting to get on top and following some good field position on 25 minutes prop Joe Kelly bust the line to score and Josh Grundy added the conversion.

Josh Grundy then scored and converted his own try before Luke Connor scored out wide taking the score to 20-6.

The Rhinos were well on top now and Jimmy Crozier was next to score as he sidestepped his way through the Runcorn defence and Josh Grundy added the conversion to give Cadishead a 26-6 lead.

The early play from both sides was scrappy again in the second half before Luke Connor collected a Josh Williams try and raced 60 meters to score, Josh Grundy again added the conversion.

On 53 minutes Runcorn wriggled out of the tackle to score a converted try and 10 minutes later a second try in similar circumstances took the score to 32-18 however the Rhinos defence stood firm to see out a well earned win.
