Probably the performance of the season....so far!!

So Gentlemen of the thirds with a sprinkling of youth gathered to avenge last weeks defeat and the Nov Fri night flood-lite defeat to BOA. Cpt Wheeler as usual had some curve balls to deal with Griffiths, Sawyer, Smith and Roberts all pulling out last minute so with Jim Hamilton answering the call and still 18 players game on. So Ben the BOA cpt told Mr Wheeler that the BOA[ coach] 1st XV bottom of Southern Counties had conceded their fixture and in addition no DW allocated referee, so club member from the Somerset society stepped in....thanks Sir.
This news only galvanized the gentlemen with Jimmer giving an additional speech only for adult consumption let the battle commence.
After good pressure from the forwards, backs make a great break offloading to Lewis Tilley who slips past 3 defenders to score in the corner after 10 minutes 5-0 chip. Dunn with a try saving tackle as their centre burst through ball was offload and they came through to score 7-5 Bradford. Dunn pulled his calf muscle with like for like replacement Nickson in the row!!Penalty after penalty one too many as Bradford’s second row is off for 10 minutes....time to contemplate life!! Dom Hannis came onto to the back row OJT for the tiring Alex Jones. James Dempster went close but was pulled up close on the 5 metre line, great play. Something happened that is rarer than hens teeth Jimmer doing a jackal and stealing the ball outstanding!!Just before half time Chip on Bradford’s try line when Goulding carries with a lovely hand off but he ended up dropping it on the 5 metre line drops the ball....award nomination!! Second half begins and Goulding is in the dock again as a very high tackle. No yellow luckily. Fielder getting frisky after rash decision. After good defence from Chippenham a lack of numbers on the outside Bradford run over their second try. After a almost a try saving tackle from Lewis Tilley at full back they came bundling over. 12-5 Bradford. After a short stoppage Chippenham came back hard with a for Will Summers and scoring in the corner making it 12-10. Pressure put on again by Chippenham when Tilley kicks a lovely ball from his own half using his flare and pace to force a a 5 metre scrum. The returning James Cook who was having a great game made a splendid move cutting in and off loaded to Hamilton in his excitement knocked on ...unlucky. Good play by Chippenham causing another 5 metre scrum which was spun out to Tilley for his second try of the game 17-12 Chippenham. Cookie with a fantastic run but out of steam offloads but knocked on. AJ Sloan was very combative at the line out time sneaking the ball back. Fielder, Spurway were marshaling this Rolls Royce back line superbly. Hanlon and Aikman were outstanding chop tackling all day....check your ribs guys!!? Wheeler was getting slightly agitated with the referee for not playing advantage and his interpretation of tackle situation to his credit stated he had got it wrong. A lovely interception causing Cookie to put it under the posts 24-12 Chippenham. Jones rotated with Hannis, as well as 10 mins Preston for Goulding. Bradford’s 15 getting a bit aggressive with fielder causing a slight brawl. Lovely play by Chippenham and Goulding going over but was stopped short by Kilmer with a superb tackle.
Chippenham organisation and defence was awesome all day.
