London Senior Semi Final Defeat.....Again!

By

A defensive slip around the hour allowed Brentford B to score the only goal and book their place in the final

Dulwich were unable to make it to the London Senior Cup final as a defensive slip allowed Jan Zamburek to score the only goal in the 62nd minute.

The game began with Brentford B almost taking a 3rd minute lead when Archibald was left completely unmarked at the far post but Jorgensen, making his debut for the Hamlet, used his giant frame to deflect the effort wide. From the resulting corner Hammar saw his header bounce down and out off the bar.

Within a minute, it was Dulwich who were on the attack, but Sol Pryce wasted a good chance when he pushed the ball too far and he was then foiled by Gunnarsson racing off his line to clear.

Dulwich again went close in the 20th minute as Gunnarsson looked uncomfortable from set pieces and Dasilva had to clear a header from Jay Rich-Baghuelou off the line.

With 23 minutes gone, Jorgensen had to head clear a long ball over the top , but with the keeper off his line Hardy's effort was wayward and Onen's attempt to flick it on target was unsuccessful.

The Hamlet should have taken the lead in the 29th minute when Decarrey Sheriff burst on to0 a flick between the defenders, but with time to pick his spot past Gunnarsson he placed his effort almost straight at the keeper. Dulwich then went close in the 37th minute when Michael Onovwigun picked his way through the defence but his effort came back off the post.

Half Time 0-0

The second half took considerable time to produce any meaningful action as the game became disjointed. Hammar had a free kick comfortable held before Zamburek netted the only goal after 62 minutes.

A straight ball forward was flicked by Hardy and should have been comfortably cleared. Howver, the left side of The Hamlet defence failed to communicate and Zamburek was left to slip the ball under Jorgensen.

Just four minutes later, Dulwich should have been two goals behind. Onen was allowed to get into space, this time behind the right side of the defence. He drew Jorgensen and then rounded him before putting the ball behind covering defenders to Hardy. Rather than shoot, he tried to round the Dulwich keeper again and a combination of keeper and defenders scrambled the ball clear,

With 15 minutes remaining Dulwich finally put together a dangerous attack and whilst the effort from Nyren Clunis beat the keeper, it also flew just wide of the post.

Hardy put an effort wide as he tried to loft the ball over Jorgensen as Brentford B comfortably held out for the win.
