Marine recorded an excellent win on Saturday, as they beat fifth placed Gainsborough Trinity at the Martin & Co Arena to take another step towards confirming Evo-Stik Premier Division safety.
The first half saw few clear chances at either end, although the assistant referee's offside flag ruled out an Ashley Worsfold effort for the homesters that had found the net off the post.
Anthony Wilson had a good chance for the Holy Blues early in the second half, going through on goal but being denied by a fine block by the advancing Joe Hilton in the Marine goal.
Marine took the lead just after the hour, substitute James Murray - having only entered the fray two minutes previously - latching on to Craig Carney's low cross before sending his man for the Echo and firing in to the roof of the net.
Danny Mitchley and Dylan Sumner both had great chances to extend the lead but Trinity also had openings, without forcing Hilton in to any further real action.
