Millom unlucky against Keswick

Millom produced their best performance of the season so far, against undefeated Cumbria League leaders Keswick and will feel that they should have got something out of the game.
The Millom scrummage was an area of dominance for the hosts whilst there was little to choose between the sides in all other facets of the game. Keswick showed that bit more composure in the critical moments of the match and were able to take their opportunities when they presented themselves. Millom themselves did produce opportunities of their own which they were unable to take advantage of, and a lack of discipline at crucial times let their opponents off the hook. The sides switched round at the break with the visitors holding a 14-0 lead. Millom then had a slight breeze at their back and piled pressure on the Keswick line.
Kyle Murphy produced a powerful finish outwide to give Millom a sniff of an upset. Much of the remainder of the match was played in the Keswick half but their resolute defence held on and they were able to produce a counter punch with a try of their own late on to put the result beyond doubt.
