End of Season Awards: Rhys Sharpe and Miles Addison Amongst Winners

Nuneaton Borough held their end of season awards recently with Port Vale loanee Mike Calveley taking the bulk of the honours.

Rhys Sharpe scooped the Manager’s Player of the Year with Miles Addison taking home the vaunted Player’s Player of the Year award.

Calveley was the recipient of both Fan’s Player of the Year awards, with Nuneaton Borough Supporter’s Cooperative and Boro’ Independent Supporters Club naming the versatile youngster their standout player for the season. Calveley made 43 appearances, scoring five times and contributing three assists. Calveley was also named Away Player of the Season.

Rhys Sharpe, who joined in January from rivals Tamworth, made 20 appearances for the Boro’ and was stellar throughout. Addison, a summer signing, made 36 appearances, scoring four times, including a bullet header away to Champions Stockport County that snatched a 2-2 draw after the Boro’ had been reduced to 10 men.

Captain Cam Belford received the awards on behalf of Mike, who had been recalled from his loan two days prior to the ceremony, and thanked the fans for their incredible support throughout a difficult season.
