With Mike Armstrong's impending marathon and unavailability of Harry Peasgood this meant Greg Smith starting in central defence alongside Jordon Cooke.
Stamford started brightly with Ryan Seal & Joe Burgess combining but Ellis Wall was able to clear for the home side. Mansfield then had a chance when Jimmy Ghaichen put in a cross but Dan Haystead was able to punch the ball clear.
There was then further chances for Stamford from Rob Morgan & Joe Boachie but neither testing the AFC Mansfield keeper.
Midway through the half Phil Buxton crossed the ball to Jon Frogatt but his shot straight was straight at Haystead.
There was then chances at both ends, first the home side had a header saved on the line by Teddy Bloor before the Daniels counter attacked with Joe Boachie but the Stamford forward was adjudged to be off-side.
With less than 10 minutes remaining, Stamford took the lead. A corner from the right was delivered by Ryan Seal and Boachie rose highest to head the ball past Tom Crosby in the Mansfield goal.
A few minutes later, the Daniels doubled their lead when Ollie Brown-Hill broke down the left and he squared the ball to Rob Morgan to tap home from close range.
At the start of the second half, Mansfield started brightly but they could not get past the Daniels back line.
Just after the hour mark, Ryan Seal had a good effort to increase the lead but his effort was wide of the goal. Then there was another effort from Boachie but his effort was cleared by the Mansfield defence.
With 20 minutes remaining, substitute Liam Adams had a shot from the edge of the area but his effort sailed wide of the goal.
Stamford added a third with 15 minutes remaining. Tom Crosby could not hold the ball as it was crossed from the right and the ball fell to Jon Challinor who smashed the ball home from close range. The assistant manager was then booked for his Star Wars themed goal celebration.
The home side then had their best period of the game with chances but Dan Haystead was equal to them and able to save.
Stamford then wrapped up the game with a fourth with two minutes remaining. A cross from the right was met by Challinor who headed in his second of the game.
The Daniels almost added a fifth but Joe Boachie was adjudged to have fouled keeper Crosby in the build up.
