Join the Chain Gang and help your Club!

By Paul Hayes

Are you able to spare a few hours during the week to help with some maintenance tasks around Tregorrick???

The Chain Gang are a group of volunteers who meet each week to carry out a range of maintenance tasks around the Clubhouse and the grounds. Their contribution to St Austell RFC is amazing and recent achievements include:

  • Giving the Lounge and Main Bars a fresh lick of paint.
  • Putting up memorabilia on the walls and beams to remember the Club’s history.
  • Painting the concrete posts around the pitch side
  • Refurbishing the dugouts and repainting the stands
  • Clearing rubbish out of the loft space and containers
  • Strimming hedges.

Besides the maintenance work, during the season the Chain Gang will also help with pitch maintenance and marking the white lines ahead of game day.

It is never anything too strenuous or difficult and it is always a lot of fun in good company. If you can spare a few hours now and again they please contact our Volunteer Lead Al Cummins 07902 216417 or email

We also looking for volunteers to help on matchdays, a range of tasks to suit your availability and preferences. Click HERE to find out more!
