Half way and TT2007 have stepped up.

Scotland cup, TT2007

Saturday at the Scotland Cup and Troon Thistle YFC 2007 step up to the big boys game of 11v11 and didn't they do well. The team looked so settled in their positions and the team talk about team work has finally clicked.
The first game against Kirkfield gave witness to how far the boys have come.
Zack Batchelor claiming his first clean sheet at 11's and it was a well deserved clean sheet to, with a lot of thanks to the back 6 who payed in defence during both the half's. George McClure, Hadley Duncan, and Arran Robertson really set the defence standards for others to follow when they got their chances. Liam MacIver and Joshua Easton came on for the second half and carried on where Arran and Hadley had set the target. This was Donny Rorison's come back match from a serious operation which kept him away from the Manchester Trip. Very happy to say that he has passed this with flying colours and the whole team rallied around Donny through out his absence and then his return to the team.
Logan Roberts and Kieran Spurling linked up well in their new roles working together in the Midfield position. Ryan McKee and Lucas McKenzie once again excelled on their respective wings and both were asked to run at the backs and see if they have the better of them, they did as asked and Lucas had the left wing tied up against the Kirkfield Right back. Ryan however had a fast Left back and it was a good competition between them both but Ryan gradually wore the Left Back down and managed to get the better of him. Matthew Clark and William Davies came on for Kieran and Ryan and Will created lots of runs and even managed to push his way through the defence to score a fantastic solo goal with a superb freekick to add a second goal too. Up front Declan Baird finally found his position of Centre Forward which never really existed at 7'sor 9's but at 11's this is where Declan should really shine and he certainly grabbed the chance to do just that receiving player of the match. Sammy Kyle was the striker he has always been pressing and pushing himself in front of the keeper Jack Wilson came on for Sammy and played some good passing and covered a lot of ground causing problems to the Kirkfield midfield and winning free kicks by being a nuisance. With goals from Sammy Kyle x2 Will Davies x2, Declan x2 (1 penalty) and Jack Wilson helped to a 7-0 win. I will not mention that GM missed a penalty, sugar I've just done it.

The second game against Banbridge Town was started with quick tempo but with some lack lustre passing presenting Banbridge with the only chance they ended up having the buried the ball beyond Zack to take the lead. Heads up and TT2007 managed to find their rhythm and Declan Baird fired home to level the score at half time. Team talk at half time and a few changes made the team take notice and a goal scramble deflection found Matthew Clark in the right place to force the ball over to take the lead before Declan Baird found the net again to give TT2007 a well deserved 3-1 win. Player of the match went to Ryan McKee for some magic on the wing turning the Banbridge defenders, running and chasing balls with a never give up approach made the difference. Not all the time Ryan it took a few shouts from the coach and your Dad to wake that magic up.
Going into Sundays fixtures we have a 10am KO against Glenburn MWFC and a 1400 KO against Valspar. We want to see another team performance which we witnessed today. Win or loose tomorrow, you have all come along way and it looks very rosie (Red n White) for the future.
BRING ON SUNDAY

Oh what a team!!!! Sunday proved Saturday was mot a fluke. Two harder games today Valspar and Glenburn. Valspar took an early lead when Arran Robertson made a mistake and let the Valspar forward take control and punish us. By half time though Sammy Kyle had levelled the game. Second Half and Ryan McKee put his body on the line and showed Valspar who was boss on the wing, forcing himself through and a powerful shot across the keeper into the far side of the goal, 2-1. Then from a corner Ryan put a pinpoint ball for Kieran Spurling to jump up and flick a headed ball into the far corner of the goal to seal a hard fought 3-1 victory.
Second and last game of the weekend was against Glenburn, a team we don't know but we knew one player who once played for us Lewis McGowan. The boys went out and played their worst game of the weekend. Very slow to every ball, not attacking the ball when Glenburn had it. But still, Sammy Kyle pushed forward and grabbed a brace of goals in the first half. The second half was slightly better and if it was not for the bravery of Zack Batchelor the result could have been a lot worse. Eventually we ran out 2-0 winners with both of Sammy's goals the only goals of the game. Zack Batchelor gained his second clean sheet and with a fantastic display between the posts not just for this game but for the whole weekend, Zack Batchelor gained POM for this game and Player of the Tournament for Troon Thistle YFC 2007.
A massive congratulations to all the team for this weekend, you have earnt the respect of all the teams you have played, the officials that you have had refereeing the games, the parents that came to watch you all and the coaches that have spent a long time training you all to get to this level. Keep up the good work and lets show them all that we are the RED n WHITE ARMY from Ayrshire...………...
