Top effort all round from the Bare boys

Another 15 points for the Bare express as the chef impreses
Well what a glorious day for a mixed Bare team entertaining a mixed Trimpell team. Captain Smith won the toss and elected to bat on a decent track. Bare got off to a slow start with good tight opening spells from the Trimpell bowlers. Burrow (2-32) removing the Bare skipper early and Bare going to 21-1 off 10. Just as Phillis (11) went to motor on he was the victim of the snow capped bowling of Russell (2-61). An excellent spell from veteran McDermid (3-37) saw Bare slump to 64-4 with a good catch from Lambo to remove Sharman snr (34) seemingly going towards his half century. A solid 74 partnership between Oz and Sniphouse (30) saw Bare turn things into there favour. Oz went past his half century but fell on 57 with the return of the Trimpell openers. Quick wickets meant Bare were pegged back to 146-7 off 37 but another quality 74 partnership from Cook (36 not out) and Mojo (29) saw Bare post a good total of 220-8 with Lambert (1-29) taking the final wicket. Trimpell seemed to be deflated and very hot with the weather but a Sharman tea put that right!
Bare got off to a great start reducing Trimpell to 10-4 off 10 overs with great opening spells from 'fat Mat' and Albon (2-27). Cookie taking 2 quality catches as Nev became 'Teffers 3!' Ancliffe (11) and Lambert (30) proved stern resilience as first change bowlers found it hard to remove the pair. They nearly put on 50 for the 5th wicket but a cracking catch from Jay meant Trimpell were 58-5 off 30 overs. Burrow (7) also came in to ensure Bare had to grind through the heat but a re-introduction of Cook saw the Trimpell lower order do a Bare style collapse as he went on to take his 5th and 6th wicket for 12 runs off his 12 over spell. It was a good catch from the Cheshire Cat to remove the anchor of Trimpell's innings. Russell (10) put up a late fight but was removed with young Jack Wills (2-15) on his second spell. Bare showing good signs for the future, good team work and an improvement in the field. 15 points and another home game vs high flying Coniston next week with a Friday night 20/20 vs neighbours Westgate 'A' away. Now to complete the Aussie connection and spend time with the visitors. :-)
