A snow covered pitch made for a fun morning of hockey

By

Getting to Bath in pouring rain and gale force winds was no match to playing on a snow covered pitch

After several emails and phone calls before leaving no knowing weather on or off, we arrived at Bath Uni travelling in driving rain and gale force winds with several trees across the road, not knowing whether the tournament was still on or off, but we knew there was a warm Sport Centre and cafe to rest in. Walking down to the pitch trying to be positive we were relieved to be playing on the far pitch with the covered seating.
In our first and only match we decided to defend the far end but as the rain turned to snow this was a big mistake as we were unable to see the ball with the snow blowing into our eyes allowing Bath Buccs to score their only goal.
As the pitch became covered in snow and hands got colder but teams were waiting for the final whistle, allowing Tom Donnelly to create some space with some clever stick skills allowing Ethan Waddell to run forwards into the D receive and sweep the ball passes the GK to finish the game 1-1.
Well done to everyone who played a memorable morning and great team spirit.
