Match Preview : Denbigh Town v Holywell Tues 12 March 7.45pm

Town hope to get game on tomorrow despite weather forecast

These last six games will all be like Cup Finals for Denbigh Town as we battle for every point to allow us to stay in Tier 2 football next season.

Tomorrow's game will be so important for both teams as a win for Denbigh will help them pull themselves up from the danger zone and a win for struggling Holywell will give them a huge boost and a hope that they can eventually climb out of the relegation positions.

We spoke to joint manager Matty Jones and he said " This game is a big game for both clubs as we both look to secure our place in the new Championship league next season. Holywell are sitting just two places below us in the league so we believe that this game will go some way to determining our final position and have made the players fully aware of this. It was disappointing not to have played on Saturday so we are hoping the momentum of our last game, the 1-0 win away to Guilsfield, will carry into this game. "

Although Holywell have not done well as regard to collecting points they have let in very few goals in their last few games and are not an easy team to play against. Matty said "Their last game was a spirited 1-0 defeat to Rhyl. Holywell possess a squad of talented players, who we are fully aware of and we will have to once again be at our very best to ensure we take that next step towards survival. "

When asked about the team he replied " Mark Roberts will be serving the second of his four game suspension following his red card against Porthmadog, Stu Vernon will likely miss out through injury, whilst we should see Joel Hewitt return to the squad after missing the win against Guilsfield. "

Please come down to Central Park as that extra support around the ground could help so much. Note that the kick off time is 7.45pm

Derek, our groundsman, has been working at Central Park for most of the day today and we can say that by this late afternoon the pitch was playable. However there is heavy rain forecast tonight and as a precaution we have arranged a pitch inspection which will take place before 4.30pm.
