A positive mood ran through the travelling Hamlet fans with this morning's news of the returning Reise Allassani, although he had to be content with a place on the bench. There was also the first sighting this season of Connor Hunte, who was also named among the substitutes.

However, on the minus side, both Jeffrey Monakana and Christian Smith joined the list of injured players.

The home side opened brightly but the first sight of goal came from The Hamlet as Kieran Monlouis drove forward and saw Hadler tip his effort wide. There was a brief glimpse of a combination that would link later in the half when Khinda-John just managed to head a Nyren Clunis cross away from Danny Mills.

However, it took a breathtaking 12th minute save from Ashley Maynard-Brewer to keep the scores level. Wheeler laid the ball into the path of the overlapping Adebayo-Rowling, his cross seemed to be covered by Richard Orlu, but he missed the cross and Walker had a free header on goal . The Sports striker met it perfectly from 10 yards out but Maynard-Brewer sprung to his right to push it out.

Eastbourne thought they had been awarded a penalty in the 18th minute as Cox hit the deck under a challenge from Aaron Barnes but instead he was cautioned for simulation. The home side then forced two corners before a drinks break brought the players relief from the baking sun.

Once the game was back underway, Kieran Monlouis forced Hadler into a smart stop at his near post before Dulwich took a 28th minute lead. A corner on the Dulwich right was played short to Ben Chapman whose cross was met perfectly by Danny Mills head to steer the ball beyond Hadler.

Kieran Monlouis seized on hesitation in the home defence, but his attempt to lob the onrushing Hadler was blocked by the keeper. However it wasn't long before Dulwich doubled their lead. In the 36th minute, the ball was played out to Nyren Clunis and his cross from the right was met by a towering header from Danny Mills, notching his fourth goal in the last two games.

Half Time 0-2

The home side made a double substitution at half time as they looked to get back into the game. An early chance came after Adebowale was fouled near the edge of the box, but Cox saw his effort blocked by the wall. That was quickly followed by a cross from Wheeler that Walker was only able to turn wide at the near post.

Five minutes into the half, Kieran Monlouis appeared to be tripped in the penalty area but his appeals were waved away. However, with Dulwich being pushed back they had an escape in the 53rd minute. West floated a free kick forward that was met by the head of Adebowale but his effort came back off the bar and was gathered by Maynard-Brewer.

Dulwich were forced to defend and Adebowale was the next to go close, his header landing on the roof of the goal, but as the half progressed Dulwich became less troubled by the visitors attacks and looked to break quickly without exposing the defence to any swift attacks.

The main threat came from set plays and Adebowale again headed goalwards in the 74th minute, but Maynard-Brewer was well positioned to tip the effort over the bar.

In the final two minutes, Walker did find the net but he had long been flagged offside and it was The Hamlet who were to score the only goal of the half in stoppage time.

The home side made a mess of a short corner, giving the ball straight to Dulwich. The ball was picked up by Ryan Case and played over the top for Reise Allassani to race on to. Despite being under pressure, he produced a clinical finish to put a gloss on the score.
