Falkland beat Glenrothes by 12 runs

Riverside Park was a warm but overcast venue for the near top of the table clash between Glenrothes and Falkland.

Glenrothes Captain Greg Hopcroft won the toss and put the vistors in to bat. Nic Lockyer top scored for Falkland with 54, supported by Dave Gray who scored 38. Falkland didn't bat out their 50 over allocation but made 212 all out from 48.3 overs. Ryan Watson returning figures of 12 overs 5 maidens 3 wickets for 24 runs. Darren Bremner also returned excellent figures of 6.3overs 3 wickets for 30 runs.

Hopcroft and Greaves opened the Glenrothes innings and put on 40 runs before Hopcroft was caught off Brock Ditchmen by Falkland Skipper Ryan Hepburn for 11. While Chris Greaves was at the crease it looked as if Glenrothes had a real chance to pass Falkland's score, but in the 39th over with the score on 135, Jack Henderson pulled off a super running catch from a ball from Nic Lockyer to dismiss Greaves for 85. Ryan Watson then took up the task of getting Glenrothes over the line but after scoring 36 from just 47 balls he too was dismissed by a fine running catch by Dave Gray off a ball from Jack Henderson. Glenrothes made 200 for 8 wickets from their 50 overs. Falkland winning by 12 runs. Brock Ditchmen finishing with figures of 13 overs 2 maidens 3 wickets for 51 runs. Jack Henderson's figures were 8 overs 2 wickets for 27 runs.
