Hibs return to league action with impressive victory!

Hibs Reserves returned to league action as they faced Whitnash Utd away having won in both the Division 4 Cup and Challenge Cup in the two weeks prior.

A calamitous start for Hibs as they found them selves behind within minutes, miscommunication at the back led to the Whitnash striker racing in behind and slotting the ball home to leave Hibs trailing 1-0.

Despite the slow start they equalised quickly as Luke Marriott raced in behind and finished smartly to make the score 1-1. The Hibs celebrations were soon cut short however as they continued to under perform and found themselves 2-1 down after more home pressure.

With not long to go in the first half, Marriott swung in an excellent cross that was met with an equally good volley at the far post from Josh Johal to make the score 2-2.

With the teams drawing at half time Hibs came out second half looking like a different side and it wasn’t long before Harry Davies got on to the end of a great through ball from Andwayne Taylor to slot home to give Hibs the lead for the first time on the day. 2-3.

Harry Davies completed his man of the match performance with an excellent long distance free kick into the top left to double his tally for the day and make the score 2-4.

Despite late chances to extend the lead the score finished 2-4 with Hibs the winners on the day.
