INFORMATION SHEET w/c MONDAY, 4th MARCH, 2019

Monday, 11th March
Next practice session.

Monday, 18th March
Practice & next Info. Sheet.

Revised, revised list of other dates & events to be considered:-
Monday, 6th May – Scorton Bikes & Barrows Festival
Saturday, 11th May – Balshaw’s HS, Leyland, Family Fun Day
Saturday, 18th May – Morris Taster Workshop at Leyland C.C. 10:30 am – 2 pm.
Monday, 3rd June (evening) - Newton-le-Willows for a National Assoc. of Women’s Clubs event
Saturday, 13th July – Malkin MD’s Tour of Pendle villages
Saturday, 27th July (am) – Springfield Nursing Home, Coppull
Saturday, 7th September – Singleton Cloggers’ Day of Dance

To date we appear to have sufficient numbers for Scorton, the Taster Day and Newton-le-Willows. At the moment we’re still short of musicians for Balshaw’s. The event runs from 11am to 3pm so if we get enough bodies, do we have any preference for 11am – 1pm or 1pm – 3pm? Answers to Mike.

You may recall that on a couple of previous occasions a small group of LMM member, in kit, has gone along to an evening with the Leyland Photographic Society. We have received a similar request from the Blackburn Artists’ Society - for a Thursday evening in October. Please inform Mike if you’re willing to go.

Mike’s still hoping you’ll supply him with info. regarding likely holiday dates. This will help him decide, when invited to events, whether we’re likely to have enough people available.

Saturday, 18th May – Taster Day
The Committee would welcome your ideas of names, places etc. we should contact with details of the event. Once we have the posters/handouts we would need help in getting them widely distributed.

The new ‘Lancashire Wakes’.......
......is now on sale. See if you can spot yourself on some of the photos!

Odds & Ends
1. The Lancashire (Evening) Post of Tuesday, 19th & Wednesday, 20th February gave a two-page spread to the Lancashire Wallopers’ Clog Weekend, followed by a two-page spread on clogs and clog making. The latter featured a large photo of LMM when they first went into dancing in clogs. Hope you saw one or both of these.
2. Sunday, 24th February – I hope some of you saw yourselves on TV when ‘Cranford’ was being re-shown!
