Wanted: Coach, physio, captains!

By Bobby Bridge

MANOR Park finished sixth in Midlands 3 West South in 2018/19 - but preparations are afoot to build on our best-ever finish next season.

First team captain Charlie Wilson and head coach Nick Bishop have both decided to stand down from their roles but will still play an active part in the club. We thank you both for your incredible efforts in a remarkable season that has seen us defeat the likes of Berkswell and Balsall home and away as well as a famous win over Old Leamingtonians.

Their departures create opportunities of first team captain and head coach.
Anybody who wishes to put their name forward for head coach can email manorparkrfc@hotmail.co.uk - the willing candidate must be aware that it is an all-club role responsible for development of all the club's playing personnel.

Final decisions are made at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 8.
The club is also searching for a physio/sports therapist to commit to first team matches home and away between September and April as well as providing midweek support for players. Again, please contact us on manorparkrfc@hotmail.co.uk

Also standing down after four seasons of dedicated service is second team captain Podge Everard. Thank you so much for your unreal efforts big fella. You've left a big shirt to fill... ;-)

The club also hopes to appoint a first team manager to help deal with the general running of the club, especially on matchdays.

A successor will be chosen at the AGM. All members can cast their votes on Wednesday May 8. To vote, you must be a paid up member.

Every role at the club, from head coach to second team vice captain, fixtures secretary to social sec are all voted for. If you wish to be put forward, all you do have to do is be nominated and seconded (backed up by another person).

If you wish to raise something at the AGM or usher a change in our club constitution, it must be received in writing by Wednesday, April 24. Have your say - make sure you're at the AGM. If you care, be there!

But first, don't forget the dinner dance on Friday, May 3. Tickets are £15 and available from Liam Rose.
